What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate for this role will be a hands-on leader of a highly skilled software development team, building solutions in the FinTech world. As a leader, you will help us continue to expand our team of incredibly talented, productive engineers and develop software solutions in an agile environment producing secure, scalable, user-centric applications with an emphasis on quality and rapid, timely delivery. The Card Development Manager is responsible for ensuring the team is consistently delivering highly performant, secure, and highly available solutions. Act as an example to the team members, collaborate closely with all stake holders, and remove or escalate impediments. 


The ideal candidate will be able to actively sponsor continuous improvement within the team, the department, and the company and will have significant experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. Furthermore, they will take responsibility for maintaining a self-organizing team comprised of high-performing associates.


Requirements

· Demonstrate a strong knowledge of successive stages of agile product development, planning tools and processes involved, and implement all processes accordingly

· Maintain project scheduling, resourcing, and budget planning for all card projects. Collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate those into a staffing and delivery model. 

· Provide guidance and technical direction to the team 

· Establish performance and development goals for your team members. Provide feedback and coaching and evaluate goals over time.

· Ensure the team maintains the highest standards of quality

· Collaborate with Product Owners, Card Analysts, stakeholders, subject matter experts, architects, and other developers to design, deliver, and maintain technical solutions

· Collaborate with business partners, architecture, and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate those into a staffing and delivery model

· Assess immediate and future resourcing needs and work with management and  recruiting to create or refine job descriptions based on project demands

· Perform resource forecasting and allocation of technical staff across multiple projects for new product development

· Hire and lead talented software development team members that meet or exceed expectations for delivering high-quality, secure, user-centric software on time

· Ensure standards-based compliance or initiate process improvement efforts, as required by Programs or as appropriate to project and product needs

· Ensure commitments and progress to schedules remain clear, reasonable, and proactively monitored

· Leverage effective, clear, and timely written and/or verbal communications 

· Regularly use, create, and report metrics for resource allocation, software defects, productivity, and efficiency

· Facilitate post-event reviews using root cause analysis techniques to continuously improve


Why You Are The Perfect Fit


Experience

· Minimum of 5 years in previous leadership positions required (supervisor, manager, or project manager)

· Agile / Scrum experience required

· Proficient in leading a team on a day-to-day basis, within a broader organization structure

· Minimum 4+ years leading a group of software developers

· Experience with credit union financial applications including but not limited to retail banking, lending, platform applications, and general ledger highly preferred

· Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as is the ability to manage multiple projects at once

· Proven experience in learning quickly, as well as demonstrating strong critical thinking / analysis abilities, customer focus, enthusiasm, listening skills, flexibility, and adaptability

· Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision

· Experience working with business stakeholders

· Experience with Agile Scrum methodology


Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information systems, or technology-related field or equivalent number of years of technical experience.

· Master’s Degree preferred
