Description

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for building relationships and driving impact? Community Progress Council (CPC) is seeking an experienced Director of Development to join our leadership team and champion a culture of philanthropy that transforms lives in York County. 


This is a high-impact role with big shoes to fill as our outgoing Director has built a strong foundation of donor relationships and fundraising success. Now, we’re looking for someone who can build upon that momentum and take CPC’s development strategy to the next level. 


As the Director of Development, you will design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that fuels CPC’s mission to empower individuals and families to move toward economic self-sufficiency. What You’ll Do 

  • Develop and implement multi-faceted fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, planned giving, special events, grants, and capital campaigns. 
  • Lead and execute capital campaigns from strategy to completion, including donor cultivation, solicitation of major gifts, and stewardship to achieve ambitious fundraising goals. 
  • Build and strengthen relationships with donors, community leaders, and philanthropists. 
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Board of Directors, Fund Development Committee and Communications team to craft compelling cases for support. 
  • Mobilize board members and volunteers to expand CPC’s base of support. 
  • Manage donor database, gift acknowledgments, and sponsorship fulfillment processes. 
  • Aggressively seek new funding sources while nurturing existing donor relationships. 
Requirements

What We’re Looking For 

  • Proven Fundraiser: Minimum 5 years of experience raising $1M+ annually using diverse strategies. Successful capital campaign experience required. 
  • Leadership Experience: At least 3 years leading teams and managing projects. 
  • Relationship Builder: Skilled in cultivating major donors and closing five- or six-figure gifts. 
  • Resilient Problem-Solver: Energized by big challenges and driven to find creative, solution-oriented approaches that turn obstacles into opportunities. 
  • Strategic Thinker: Creative, organized, and able to balance multiple priorities. 
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Office 365 and donor management systems (Donor Perfect experience a plus). 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE preferred.

Salary Description
$100,000 - $115,000 Per Year
