The Job

The role of Data Specialist involves various responsibilities, including SKU creation, purchase order (PO) entry, vendor order confirmation management, and supporting our buying team to ensure the smooth operation of our supply chain.

The Opportunity

  • Execute precise and timely data entry tasks, including SKU creation and PO management in Netsuite. 
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain and validate order confirmations, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders. 
  • Monitor open orders, manage pre-orders, and make necessary adjustments to purchase orders based on changing requirements. 
  • Maintain and address exceptions promptly, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and discrepancies. 
  • Keep vendor records and purchasing databases up-to-date, complete, and accurate. 
  • Provide essential support to Buyers in your specialized category, including SKU management, site audits, package building, and price management. 
  • Assist Buyers with various tasks, manage pricing for sales initiatives, and act as a resource for inquiries from content teams, customer care, and DC teams. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

The Must Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of retail or merchandising operations experience, preferably in the action sports category for a branded specialty lifestyle retailer.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to finding innovative workable solutions to business challenges, leading through change, and seeking a better way.
  • Proven ability to work with peers and colleagues across varying levels of organization and geographies to proactively problem solve and strategically create new business opportunities. 
  • Thorough understanding, experience with and/or knowledge of best-in-class inventory management practices.  
  • Embodies, honors, and lives our core values: The Great 8 
  • Degree in Merchandising or Business studies preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of snow hardgoods a plus

The base wage for this role ranges from $22.00/hr to $24.50/hr. Where you land in that range depends on your skills and experience, and we also factor in internal pay equity. While the full range is listed for this role, we rarely hire at the top of the range, leaving room for professional and financial growth in role.
