Description

  

Regional Sales Director is responsible for increasing revenue and margins for Basic Coatings. Must be able to create an annual strategic plan, and review / adjust the plan as needed. The Regional Sales Director is responsible for developing target accounts, product knowledge training of distributors and contractors, jobsite product demonstrations, day-to-day customer interaction, as well as managing various sales reporting activities.

Sales Process

  • Work with Senior Director of Sales to develop Macro Strategy for the Territory.
  • Prospect, develop, and motivate both existing and new distributors to assure sales growth.
  • Prospect, develop, and motivate both existing and new contractor targets to create product demand.
  • Team with Business Development/Brand Strategist to develop and update a target list of contractors and distributors.
  • Conducts sales presentations and demonstrates (hands on) chemical and equipment to distributors, contractors and end users.
  • Utilize CRM System to enter, track and close opportunities.
  • Present all Basic promotions to ensure distributor, contractor participation. 
  • Aggressively promote and demonstrate new products to gain acceptance to exceed sales goals.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain a positive working relationship.
  • Responsible for managing all Basic Coatings business within all distributors in the assigned region, including chemical, equipment, process, and programs. Individual is responsible for the growth of all areas and for handling all distributor questions regarding these areas.
  • Developing annual strategic plan for the territory that supports the company’s strategic plan.
  • Support at NWFA schools and Distributor demonstrations as needed.

CRM & Reporting

  • Assists in sales forecasting activities, sets and meets performance goals for the assigned region.
  • Advise Director of Marketing & Sales of issues concerning sales, marketing and competitive landscape.
  • Maintains a close awareness of the region, market and competitive activities in the region and keep Basic Coatings abreast of problems and opportunities.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition and communicates this information to Basic Coatings through the appropriate tools.
  • Responsible for maintaining the CRM system as it relates to the contact information and call history for reporting and tracking of the sales calls.

Time Management

  • Travels throughout assigned region to meet with, establish and maintain relationships with key distributors and contractors.
  • Controls expenditures of his position to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Committed to timely completion of all Quarterly Distributor Strategy Meetings, reports and requests from Basic Coatings Management.
  • Keeps calendar up to date with all appointments, calls, office hours, travel, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

  • Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Business Administration 
  • 2 - 5 years experience

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Fully computer literate - MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Ability to learn CRM software
  • Someone familiar with selling building material products through distribution is critical. 
  • Person must be mechanical in nature, technical, with great selling skills. 
  • Although it’s not required, it would be beneficial if they knew the flooring business. 
  • Travel- 70% travel within assigned territory
