Estimator
Description

The estimator will be responsible for estimating commercial and institutional construction projects in a timely manner with the ability to fully read specifications and drawings, legends, and equipment schedules, following different document iterations (schematic, construction, and permit sets). We are searching for an estimating professional that is self-motivated, extremely well organized, and accurate; excels in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment, and is capable of working in a team environment as well as taking on smaller projects individually with supervision. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with an ability to prioritize and multitask.


 Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree desired in construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans
  • Ability to perform quantitative take-offs on all SCI divisions (Dv#2-16)
  • Base building estimating experience commercial or multifamily
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Procore, On-screen Takeoff (OST) and Building Connected
  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience as a full estimator in general contracting
  • Experience with Construction Project Management a plus
Requirements
  • Build/Submit Proposals (Includes Budgeting, Scheduling, & Overall Approach to a Project)
  • Manage Subcontractor Invitation to Bid (ITB)
  • Scope Takeoffs
  • Subcontractor scoping/leveling
  • Perform Project Buyout & Contracting after Project Award
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid the bidding process
  • Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates

 Physical requirements

  • Walking:  Able to walk across rugged and uneven terrain consisting of various materials including dirt, sand, gravel, and rock.
  • Climbing Stairs:  Able to climb up and down rough and finished stairs of multiple- floor buildings.
  • Climbing Ladders:  Able to climb up and down ladders of various heights.
  • Lifting and Carrying:  Able to bend knees and use hands and fingers to lift and carry objects such as engineering drawings and specifications weighing up to approximately 25 lbs.
  • Communications:  Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
  • Vision:  Seeing to read engineering and architectural documents, operation and safety instructions, and a computer monitor.
  • Sitting:   Sitting and operating a keyboard for extended periods of time to enter data into a computer workstation.
  • Dexterity:   Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.

$90,000 - $140,000+
