About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Architect to support the MES modernization effort for the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP). This role focuses on documenting future-state business architecture artifacts that define how OHIP will operate post-transformation. You will work with a dynamic team, leveraging KPMG reference models and collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop business architecture artifacts (independently or as part of the team) like, but not limited to: operating models, process models, capability models based on documentation reviews, brainstorming session, individual or team research
- Review with stakeholders, update as needed comprehensive documentation, including business architecture artifacts like – but not limited to- context/operating models, process maps.
- Log changes to the models in alignment with the approved methodology and approach.
- Support planning and development of materials to facilitate workshops for reviewing and validating Business Architecture artifacts and deliverables.
- Prepare and facilitate business architecture workshops with various stakeholders across the client organization according to the approved methodology and approach.
- Analyze and summarize any documentation provided on business processes, workflows, and system requirements related to assigned areas. Conduct harvesting activities and integrate relevant findings within models managed. Identify and assess gaps.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document pain points and their root cause.
- Ensure produced artifacts align with MITA framework and CMS compliance standards as well as with other artifacts developed for the larger project/scope.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams, business units, and clients to ensure clear understanding of stakeholders’ goals and specific needs.
- Provide recommendations as appropriate for process improvement and in alignment with the goals, guiding principles and other documented program constraints.
- Provide timely and qualitative updates to the team and team leads as needed.
- Contribute to team tasks, documentation preparation and provide support to the immediate and larger team as required.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree.
· 8+ years of experience with large-scale healthcare solutions.
· 3+ years of IT systems experience with formal training/education.
· 3+ years in enterprise systems or projects.
· Expertise in documenting complex workflows and maintaining business architecture artifacts.
· Strong facilitation skills for stakeholder workshops and validation sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with EA tools (e.g., iServer).
· Familiarity with New York State systems (eMedNY, NYSOH, APD).
· Certifications in TOGAF, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Kanban, Project Management, Business Analysis, or ITIL.
· Master’s degree.
