Description

  

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trailer Finish Technician to join our production team at a leading trailer manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for the final assembly and finishing of trailers, with a strong emphasis on woodworking, interior fit-out, and basic electrical installation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in trailer manufacturing carpentry, and wiring, and takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final interior and exterior assembly of trailers, including walls, flooring, doors, ramps, trim, and hardware installation
  • Install electrical systems including wiring, lighting, switches, and outlets according to blueprints and safety codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and assembly instructions
  • Measure, cut, and install wood materials (e.g., paneling, cabinets, shelves, countertops) using hand and power tools, the ability to read a tape measure is a must.
  • Ensure all installed components are level, secure, and meet quality standards
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure trailers meet company specifications and customer expectations
  • Troubleshoot and repair finish-related issues during the final assembly phase
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures at all times
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and efficiency goals 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in trailer manufacturing, carpentry, or electrical installation
  • Strong woodworking and carpentry skills, including the use of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of basic 12V and 120V electrical systems and safe wiring practices
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or GED required, trade school or vocational training a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
  • Bend, twist, kneel, climb, and stand for long periods.
  • Work in varying temperatures and loud environments.

  Safety Expectations

  • Required to wear PPE including safety glasses, and hearing protection as needed.
  • Follow PPE requirements for electrical tasks, cutting tools, and power tool operations (OSHA 1910.132–138).
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on powered systems (OSHA 1910.147).
  • Do not connect or test wiring until components are properly grounded and secured.
  • Avoid working on live circuits unless authorized and trained.
  • Inspect all tools (impacts, drills, rivet guns, cutters) before use.
  • Keep cords, hoses, and air lines organized to prevent tripping hazards.
  • Report damaged tools immediately and do not use unsafe equipment.
  • Use proper lifting techniques for heavy trailer parts (ramps, couplers, tires).
  • Be aware of moving trailers, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
  • Ensures jack stands, blocks, or supports are secure before working under or around trailers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent slips, trips, and falls.
  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Report hazards, near-misses, and injuries immediately.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards for industrial facilities.

 Note: This role is a fast-paced manufacturing environment with constant noise, moving equipment, power tools, fabrication debris, and frequent physical activity including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting for extended periods.
