Position Objectives:
To serve as the Senior Vice President of Development’s primary strategic partner by coordinating department-wide initiatives, advancing innovative approaches to fundraising, and ensuring successful execution of key priorities across the Development Department, while working closely with the Deputy Director on cross-functional projects.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Collaborate with the SVP of Development to design, prioritize, and execute department-wide strategies that emphasize innovation and forward-thinking initiatives
• Work closely with the Deputy Director to coordinate, advance, and implement cross-team projects that drive departmental evolution
• Strengthen cross-team alignment across Major Gifts, Digital Fundraising, Direct Response, Membership, Events, Legacy Gifts, and Catalog teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Develop strategic frameworks and project plans that support transformative initiatives and long-range goals
• Identify opportunities to elevate systems, processes, and collaboration, and implement solutions that enhance strategic alignment
• Lead major cross-team projects focused on technology enhancements, AI and automation initiatives, donor experience improvements, and pioneering fundraising pilots that expand PETA’s impact
• Coordinate leadership communications, prepare reports and presentations, and support messaging that highlights innovative efforts
• Track progress on strategic initiatives, proactively address risks or resource needs, and adapt plans to ensure success
• Represent the SVP in selected internal meetings and cross-functional groups, advocating for a culture of innovation
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Eight years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, project management, or organizational leadership
• Demonstrated success coordinating complex, cross-functional projects
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with CRM platforms, data dashboards, and digital or technology-forward fundraising tools preferred
• Proven ability to work independently and use discretion in confidential matters
• Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
• Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
• Ability to represent PETA's philosophy and professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
The salary range for this position is $64,432.89 - $80,578.89 annually. The ultimate salary within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
