Summary
We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer II who sits at the intersection of business value and technical craft, someone who can translate messy questions into clean, performant, and scalable data models. This is not a “just write the SQL” role. You’ll own how data moves, transforms, and ultimately drives decision-making across the company.
Reporting to the Manager of Data Engineering, the Analytics Engineer will work closely with BI analysts, product managers, marketing, and other business stakeholders to design pipelines that turn data into actionable insights with elegance, automation, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform business logic into code and build data models that map directly to business value.
- Design and orchestrate data workflows using modern tooling across Redshift and AWS environments.
- Write clean, performant SQL and scalable transformations that handle high data volume and complexity.
- Engineer robust, idempotent, and restart-safe pipelines that keep data infrastructure resilient.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics, engineering, and business teams to enable data-driven decisions.
- Automate and optimize existing workflows for speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Uphold data quality and reliability through testing, validation, and reproducibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology engineering, or related discipline and 3-5 years of equivalent work experience.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Redshift strongly preferred)
- AWS expertise (S3, Bedrock, Spectrum)
- Mage.ai (preferred), Airflow, Dagster, or similar modern data orchestration tools.
- Analytical mindset and the ability to translate business questions into technical solutions.
- Experience designing data models using dimensional or entity-relationship approaches
- Proficiency in Python (or similar language) for data manipulation, orchestration, and automation.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) and judgment on when to use them effectively.
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining data pipelines in production environments.
- Understand the CI/CD workflows and testing for data pipelines.
- E-commerce or digital analytics experience is a plus.
