Quick Lane Technician
Description

 

A Quick Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services in a fast-paced automotive shop environment. This role focuses on oil changes, fluid checks, inspections, and basic automotive services while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance

  • Perform oil and filter changes on a wide variety of vehicles
     
  • Inspect and top off all vital fluids (coolant, transmission, brake, windshield, power steering, etc.)
     
  • Rotate and inspect tires as needed
     
  • Replace air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades, and light bulbs
     
  • Perform chassis lubrication services
     
  • Check and replace batteries when required
     

Vehicle Inspection

  • Conduct multi-point inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
     
  • Inspect belts, hoses, tires, and brakes
     
  • Communicate findings clearly to service advisors or customers
     

Shop Duties

  • Keep bays clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
     
  • Properly dispose of used oil, filters, and other materials
     
  • Maintain equipment and report any repair needs
     

Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers professionally
     
  • Explain recommended services clearly and honestly
     
  • Ensure vehicles are cared for respectfully and returned in a clean condition
     

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Basic automotive knowledge
     
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
     
  • Strong attention to detail
     
  • Willingness to learn and follow procedures
     
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
     

Preferred

  • Previous experience in automotive or quick-lube service
     
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance tools and equipment
     

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced shop environment
     
  • Indoor/outdoor conditions depending on shop setup
     
  • Requires bending, lifting, and working under vehicles
     

Typical Work Schedule

  • Full-time or part-time
     
  • Weekends or evenings depending on shop hours
Salary Description
$15/ HOUR
