Description
A Quick Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services in a fast-paced automotive shop environment. This role focuses on oil changes, fluid checks, inspections, and basic automotive services while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Routine Maintenance
- Perform oil and filter changes on a wide variety of vehicles
- Inspect and top off all vital fluids (coolant, transmission, brake, windshield, power steering, etc.)
- Rotate and inspect tires as needed
- Replace air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades, and light bulbs
- Perform chassis lubrication services
- Check and replace batteries when required
Vehicle Inspection
- Conduct multi-point inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Inspect belts, hoses, tires, and brakes
- Communicate findings clearly to service advisors or customers
Shop Duties
- Keep bays clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Properly dispose of used oil, filters, and other materials
- Maintain equipment and report any repair needs
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers professionally
- Explain recommended services clearly and honestly
- Ensure vehicles are cared for respectfully and returned in a clean condition
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Basic automotive knowledge
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and follow procedures
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Preferred
- Previous experience in automotive or quick-lube service
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance tools and equipment
Work Environment
- Fast-paced shop environment
- Indoor/outdoor conditions depending on shop setup
- Requires bending, lifting, and working under vehicles
Typical Work Schedule
- Full-time or part-time
- Weekends or evenings depending on shop hours
Salary Description
$15/ HOUR
