Description

The Test Engineer is responsible for all aspects of product, material and system validation for a wide range of vibration isolation and seismic/noise control products. This position independently performs and coordinates testing in-house and at select supplier partners and supports seismic testing, manages the projects with the labs and customers, secures contractors and execute.

  

Responsibilities not limited to:


Responsible for performing all testing at internal and external labs

  • Using independent discretion and judgment, identify, plan for and ensure proper tools and equipment are in place to allow for proper and timely testing
  • Coordinate and actively manage external shake testing of nonstructural building components
  • Plan for and handle all advance test preparation and manage the testing process
  • Perform physical tests on materials, products and customer supplied equipment
  • Prepare mechanical test fixtures, including non-precision machining to alter test apparatus
  • Perform material acceptance and diagnostic tests 
  • Administer and develop a wide range of testing and development protocols
  • Perform calibration tests and measurements on equipment
  • Support Quality as required

Manage customer expectations

  • Proactively communicate with internal teams, labs, external teams and customers regarding status of project
  • Support with writing the project test plan per the project engineers analysis and scope.

Create clear and concise documents as required by the project test plan

  • Collect the test data to prepare and issue a well written, timely, comprehensive, and professional report document which summarizes and validates the result of all test procedures. These documents reflect the character and integrity of the testing process and outcome
Requirements

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel formulas) and Microsoft Project
  • Strong project management, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Confident communicator with strong follow-through

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Laboratory setting with occasional extended hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and operate lab equipment and mechanical tools
  • Travel required (25–50%), including possible international travel

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (4–6 years of progressive mechanical engineering work) 
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory machinery and data collection systems - preferred
  • Experience with elastomers, metals, manufacturing, or quality assurance 
Salary Description
70,000 to 85,000 yearly
