 We are Looking for: 

The Medical Assistant (MA) in our Urology clinic plays a vital role in supporting physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care. This position involves both administrative and clinical responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow and excellent service.


Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including obtaining vital signs and medical history.
  • Assist providers during urologic procedures and exams.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as catheter changes, bladder scans, and specimen collection (urine, blood).
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
  • Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up visits.
  • Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide education regarding pre- and post-procedure instructions.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Follow infection control protocols and clinic safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
  • Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Must be bilingual
  • Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
