Description

JBF Stainless is looking for an Engineering Manager to oversee the day to day operations of the Engineering and Drafting department while performing the regular duties of a Design/Process Engineer. This role requires managing and coordinating with designers, drafters, and Engineers in meeting deadlines, addressing client concerns and developing solutions for clients. This role includes the development, design, improvement and support of mechanical processes for new and existing industrial systems.  


Field Expertise Related Responsibilities

o Generate applicable calculations, creating drawings, outlining system process and instrumentation diagrams, and review prints.

o Provide expertise in various aspects of design, department management, mentorship and other functions as required.

  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility and requirements of designs or applications.
  • Maintain  production control drawings of ASME and other non-code work.
  • Manages 3A certifications and compliance.
  • Handles seismic and wing load calculations. 

Team Management Responsibilities 

  • Strategize with department managers to review quality and process developing solutions to improvements and efficiencies. 
  • Lead in research process and helping to develop solutions for clients.
  • Lead the engineering team providing the manufacturing shop drawings to the production floor.
  • Supervise, develop, and train engineering team.
  • Coordinate with various engineering groups including controls and electrical fields to assist in designing systems for projects.
  • Review and analyze proposals submitted to determine if potential profits derived justify expenditures. 
  • Prepare technical information and presentation for peers, teams and clients.
  • Client Facing Responsibilities
    • Communicate with clients, vendors, and relevant stakeholders on projects.
    • Recommend designs to meet customer/blueprint requirements.
Requirements

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing related      industry. 
  • 2+ years of experience in Pressure Vessel Design
  • 1+ years of team management in a related field or industry
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain quality service while under pressure
  • High level of conscientiousness and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g. being able to explain technical      issues to clients using common language
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of ASME BPVC calculations
  • Knowledge of 3-A Sanitary Standards and UL Safety Standards for tanks
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, Plant 3D
  • Knowledge of mechanical, piping, and structural code
  • Experience with welding and joint design of stainless steel, process piping and/or other AWS, BPE code specifications.
  • Experience in facility design including piping design, pump and compressors, safety systems, storage tanks, and heat exchangers.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and critically evaluate design drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat/other PDF Editor.
Salary Description
$100,000-$130,000 per year
