Since its inception in 1979 as a nonprofit organization, Tacoma Arts Live has played a pivotal role in revitalizing downtown Tacoma through the performing arts, growing into the South Sound's largest performing arts organization. Based in the heart of the city, its home at the Tacoma Armory is a central hub for creativity and community engagement, transforming live experiences and elevating community and arts education.
Tacoma Arts Live's dedication to community service is evident through its multifaceted engagement activities, which include presenting and producing performing arts experiences, providing dynamic education programs serving 40,000 learners in schools across multiple districts and counties, and engaging diverse audiences through collaborations, community gatherings, and festivals. Notably, Tacoma Arts Live boosts diverse voices by providing support to BIPOC and women-owned creative and cultural enterprises through its small business incubator ACE (Accelerating Creative Enterprise.)
Position: Ticket Sales Coordinator
The Ticket Sales Coordinator is responsible for driving ticket sales revenue and building audience engagement for Tacoma Arts Live performances and events. This role combines proactive sales outreach with support for marketing communications and social media efforts to help increase attendance and expand the organization's patron base. Candidates must be able to provide their own transportation to attend events in the greater Tacoma area. In person attendance at designated community events and some Tacoma Arts Live presenting events are required. Other work can be done in office or remote.
Compensation
This is a commission-based position structured as follows:
• Base stipend: $3,000 per month
• Bonuses at 5-15% of ticket revenue over base sales goals.
Compensation has been established based on comparable data for similar roles at arts organizations of comparable size and scope in accordance with IRS guidelines for reasonable compensation.
This position will remain open through Thursday December 18, 2025.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategies to increase ticket sales for all performances and events
• Conduct outbound sales activities including email campaigns, phone outreach to past patrons, and group sales coordination
• Track sales performance against targets and provide regular reports to leadership
• Manage relationships with ticketing platform and coordinate promotional pricing/discount codes
• Identify and cultivate group sales opportunities (corporate groups, schools, community organizations)
• Create, design, and distribute promotional materials for upcoming events (digital and print)
• Assist with the development and execution of email marketing campaigns
• Assist in the coordination of graphic designers, photographers, and other vendors as needed
• Support staff to ensure accurate event information displays on website and third-party listing sites
• Assist with the maintenance of organizational social media accounts, creating engaging content to promote events
• Track engagement metrics and adjust strategy accordingly
• Represent Tacoma Arts Live at community events through tabling and outreach
Qualifications and Experience
• Demonstrated sales experience with measurable results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort with digital marketing tools (email platforms, social media, basic analytics)
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
• Passion for the arts and understanding of nonprofit mission-driven work
• Experience in performing arts, entertainment, or event sales
• Familiarity with ticketing systems
• Background in nonprofit organizations (preferred)
• Local community connections (preferred)
