Primary Responsibilities 

This position will directly participate in a ‘hands on’ production capacity in process and product development and existing process improvements. Working closely with Production and Engineering departments to ensure information flow, and process and equipment optimization. Must have ability to problem solve effectively and think through process and process development to be able to trouble shoot development and ensure a consistent process.

Perform duties related to the evaluation, installation, operation of equipment and mechanical systems. 

This is a 24/7 production environment and it may require you to occasionally work off hours in order to drive solutions. Work is project base oriented and you may be working on a number of projects, short and long term, all at various different stages, at any given time

Requirements

  

Qualifications: 

1. Possess a wide skill set to include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, pneumatics and hydraulics.

2. Ability to work well with others.

3. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written.

4. Working knowledge of Excel.

5. Possess a knowledge of factory safety (OSHA) and environment (EPA) procedures. 

6. Must be available to work off shifts as required.

7. Must be willing and able to climb ladders or work from elevated platforms as necessary.

8. Ability to operate a forklift or scissor lift.

Typical Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all production and facility equipment.

2. Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to maintain, diagnose, repair, rebuild or replace electronic/mechanical equipment such as chiller, compressors, extruders, grinders, slitters, and all custom equipment within the facility.

3. Maintain an inventory of spare parts and order replacements as necessary.

4. Manage Maintain X

5. Manage maintenance P.O. creation and confirmation 

6. Manage Emissions documentation.

7. Manage business inspections and licenses.

8. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

9. Responsible for all company owned tools.

10. Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager or other Management as required. 

  

  

Employment and Educational Requirements:

  • Must      be fluent in English language and be able to effectively communicate with      other departments as situation requires. 
  • 5 to      7 years' experience in process manufacturing, equipment processes concepts, and experience in plastics extrusion and molding an asset. 
  • Understanding      of Microsoft Office applications 
  • Individual      must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as be able      to excel in a team or group setting.
