JOB TITLE:  Shipping Supervisor  PLANT: Fort Wayne 

  

REPORTS TO: Materials Manager   DEPT: Materials

 

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITY: This position will perform as primary leader for all shipping and receiving employees, ensuring that all finished good shipments are loaded on time, as ordered and according to customer specifications. Other responsibilities include managing inventory, cycle counts and supporting other business goals and objectives as required. 

ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

· Assist with logistics including but not limited to; shipping finished goods, raw material inbound loads, RMA’s from customers, and warehouse transfers.

· Coordinating and communicating with carrier dispatcher, drivers and other parties involved in shipping process to ensure that goods are delivered/received within designated time windows.

· Assists the Materials Manager with the negotiations of all freight rates and/or shipping contracts. 

· Produce, record and organize shipping documents including bills of lading, delivery tickets, pick lists/load sheets and certifications. 

· Ship loads through our ERP system, Assistics, and record details through the Shipping log. 

· Process all ASNs and Customer labeling through customer websites (ie:Plex)

· Produce, record and organize certifications for FR and other specialized products, to ensure that they are in compliance with set standards. 

· Assist in managing inventory including: coordinating cycle counts, entering data, removing WIP from inventory, and adjusting inventory numbers to accurately ensure the system count matches the physical count.

· Support Corporate Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable request for shipping documents backup and track details for financial purposes. 

· File and organize documents such as BOLs and all other documents as required. 


Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• A minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED), a higher degree (AS/BS) would be preferred. 

• Proven experience of at least 2 years in shipping management or supervisory role.

• Knowledge of shipping and/or logistics procedures

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with a team as well as independently. 

• Possess good conflict resolution skills. 

• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to be able to work in a fast-paced adaptive work environment. 

• Must have good judgement and decision-making abilities

• Proficiency in organization, and evaluation using Microsoft tools. 

• Ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environment, which can include standing and/or sitting for duration of task(s). 

• Ability to transport or move up to 50lbs. of material.
