The Maintenance Mechanic supports the plant departments by responding in a timely manner to service and/or repair plant equipment and facility. The Reed City Plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Shift Information:
· 2nd Shift (3pm to 11pm)
· Crew will be determined prior to start date
· Shift is scheduled for 40 hours (5-day work week)
· Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends and for emergency events
Wages:
· $29.66 per hour with opportunity to advance in skill level up to $38.03 per hour.
· Shift differential of $.35 per hour for hours worked on 3rd shift

Main Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
· Install, maintain, trouble-shoot, and repair industrial yogurt processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipment
· Provide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modifications
· Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule
· Perform corrective maintenance work order
· Repair and maintain building utilities
· Ability to learn and perform minor machining and welding tasks
· Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment/components
· Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
· Assist with training new employees as needed
· Attend meetings and trainings as required
· Perform additional related tasks as assigned
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or related experience
- Experience with PLC
- Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping systems
- Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in arc welding, gas welding and solder practices
- Mechanical, math, troubleshooting and problem-solving and basic computer skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Must be able to lift, move, push, pull 50lbs on a regular basis
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends, daily overtime or overtime outside of your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week)
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves when required
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
- Ability to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
- Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in welding
- Experience in Vertical Mill
- Experience in Lathe machining
