Description

Spatial Front Inc. (SFI) is seeking an experienced Clinical Data Scientist to support a Federal Government customer. This project focuses on researching and ingesting publicly available foreign regulatory data and integrating it with existing datasets. The role supports building a sustainable, daily data ingestion pipeline and applying advanced analytics—such as time-series analysis, trend analysis, and machine learning (e.g., NLP, clustering, and outlier detection)—to generate insights and proactively identify high-risk facilities. 


Summary of Major Job Functions

This role supports the extraction, integration, and analysis of complex regulatory and operational data to generate actionable insights and identify high-risk facilities. The position combines advanced analytics with hands-on data engineering and operational support to ensure high-quality, reliable data services. 


Non-Technical Activities

  • Extract meaningful insights from acquired and existing datasets using advanced analytical techniques, including time-series analysis, trend analysis, and machine learning (e.g., clustering, NLP, and outlier detection).
  • Support a proactive, risk-based approach by identifying patterns and indicators of high-risk facilities.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and analytical findings to stakeholders.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and communicate data issues, risks, and gaps to project leadership.
  • Perform periodic status check-ins and provide feedback to ensure alignment with project goals.

Technical Activities

  • Serve as a specialist in applying data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, and operations research to design data models, perform data mining, and develop algorithms and predictive models.
  • Perform hands-on data analysis, validation, and quality assurance to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Utilize data mining techniques and web scraping tools to extract data from websites, databases, and other sources.
  • Apply business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and data transformation techniques to drive insights.
  • Design, manage, and optimize data pipelines, including data architecture, formats, and performance.
  • Ensure operational excellence by maintaining reliable, efficient, and high-quality data services.

Primary Responsibilities & Required Skills

  • Strong experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • PySpark / Apache Spark experience (required)
  • Strong R / RShiny skills (required)
  • Strong Python skills (required)
  • Advanced SQL experience (required)
  • Familiarity with a broad range of machine learning techniques and their implementation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with emphasis on data exploration and data wrangling
  • Databricks experience (preferred)
  • Biological sciences or pharmaceutical domain experience (preferred)
Requirements
  • MS in a qualitative technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in at least one of the following work areas: analytics, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, quality analytics, biotechnology research and development, or other relevant research programs.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Databricks and expertise in either R or Python. 
  • Must have expertise in web scraping, time-series analysis, and machine learning techniques, with proven ability to apply these skills effectively.

  • The salary for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 annually
