Job Summary:
- The Senior System Engineer role is part of the IT team that supports ETS’ mission through the use of technology and health information.
- This position provides high-level technical support for ETS/REACH IT infrastructure: configures, administers, maintains and supports Azure cloud environments that serve mission critical applications and Azure virtual machines. This position will manage Azure Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows servers and Microsoft Active Directory domain including GPO, DNS, DHCP, etc. Additional responsibilities include network and server maintenance, backup/restoration, disaster recovery, cyber security, system performance, and business continuity.
What you contribute to this role – Responsibilities:
- Help ETS succeed in carrying out our mission through working together with other staff to transform systems of harm and inequity to create different approaches to improving community health and safety through addressing substance use and homelessness.
- Assist with the organization-wide initiative to reimagine our interconnectedness within our community to overcome the aspects of our society and organizational culture shaped by white supremacy and settler colonialism.
- Provide high-level technical support for mission critical Azure cloud environment and Azure VMs.
- Configure and manage CrowdStrike, Proofpoint, KnowBe4, and other cyber security products.
- Independently resolve issues escalated by IT staff and make decisions based on your critical thinking.
- Migrate Microsoft Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID and manage Azure cloud identity.
- Ensure availability of network/Azure cloud environment, and application up-time in accordance with our IT policies.
- Effectively manage IT projects, work with vendors, and communicate with stakeholders about project status.
- Perform system backups and recovery; maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity. • Manage Cisco Meraki MX and MR devices via Meraki admin portal.
- Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of IT systems.
- Review, validate, and deploy software updates during applications rollout to production environment.
- Support other IT staff when they need to troubleshoot application issues that might be related to network/server backend.
- Monitor network/virtual server performance and make improvements necessary.
- Set up and maintain Microsoft Defender/Sentinel to monitor and safeguard ETS assets.
- Configure, monitor, maintain, and manage applications, such as: Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 Exchange Online, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams phone, Microsoft Defender (for endpoint, Office 365, identity, and cloud apps), etc.
- Data loss prevention (DLP) policy creation and management.
- Data security posture management for AI.
- Prevent virus/malware infections (including intrusion by hackers or malicious software) in ETS system\network.
- Be a member of the ETS information security team.
- Evaluate new technology and recommend hardware, software, and application upgrades to ensure the availability, continuity, and security of data for ETS.
- Monitor and survey trends, emerging technologies, issues, and approaches in healthcare information technology (HIT) to proactively innovate.
- Use strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate the activities of IT Department with those of other departments within the organization by conferring with stakeholders at every level; communicate orally and in writing complex issues, conclusions, and decisions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining the program, department, and/or organization’s initiatives, goals and strategies, and mission through a spirit of service, teamwork, and respect.
- Attend all required training and safety meetings; report all injuries and illnesses to supervisor immediately; complete and submit incident/accident reports as required; and follow all safety and health guidelines, practices, policies, procedures and actively support and participate in the Emergency Preparedness Program and tasks.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, ETS policies and procedures, including ETS Privacy, Security and Compliance policies and procedures, and the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).
- Actively participate in Quality Improvement programs and activities; initiate Quality projects and/or process improvement to attain quality service delivery.
- Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

What you bring to this role – Qualifications:
Education and/or Relevant and Lived Experience (if applicable):
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information systems, or related fields is required.
- An Azure Solutions Architect Expert certificate or equivalent is required. o Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent is preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience administering Windows servers/network in an enterprise environment is required.
- 5+ years of Azure cloud configuration and management experience required.
- 3+ years of Microsoft PowerShell scripting experience required.
- 2+ years of cyber security experience preferred. o 2+ years of network design and implementation experience preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- An understanding of racial justice and social equity and a commitment to helping create an equitable environment for all ETS clients and patients as well as fellow staff.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, patients, and staff from a wide variety of ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure Active Directory architecture, Entra identity management, and Intune implementation.
- Knowledge of cloud Solutions, Microsoft Windows Server 2019 - 2022, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP protocol.
- Knowledge of cyber security solutions.
- Ability to prioritize workload and follow through on assigned tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner. o High integrity, ethical standards, ability to understand HIPAA regulations, and on-time attendance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/ written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and complete tasks timely and efficiently.

Physical Conditions and Requirements:
- The employee may be exposed to illicit drug residues and fumes or other bio-hazardous materials when carrying out job functions. There is also potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens. ETS will provide employees with appropriate training to limit the risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Policies and procedures are in place addressing each item specifically.
- The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and kneel; occasionally to climb balance, or stoop; rarely to crouch or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
