We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our In-School Counselor Program within the Council Rock School District. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students' social and emotional development, helping them overcome challenges and succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address mental health, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Actively listen to students, ask insightful questions, and create a safe space for students to express their concerns.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to enhance students' overall well-being, resilience, and academic performance.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to district policies.
- Advocate for students' needs and connect families with community resources when appropriate.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate support services.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker or School Counselor.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues, developmental stages, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and community resources.
- Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and related procedures.
