This position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients in facility van or other vehicles according to schedule. This position will have the primary responsibility of driving but will also provide Residential Support Specialist (RSS) duties as available and/or needed.
Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drives facility van and other vehicles.
- Assists in planning and implementing facility van or other vehicle schedules.
- Promptly report any concerns regarding safe and proper functioning of van or other vehicles to the supervisor.
- Follow all city and state driving and transportation rules and regulations.
- Engage and communicate with patients as appropriate to address any behavior or communication issues during transportation and communicate patient complaints or concerns to management as they arise.
- Maintain an effective level of communication with supervisor and management team to report any service impacting issues.
- Keep records of who attended offsite activity (medical, legal, etc.) and ensure that all are returned to site.
- Assure the interior of van or other vehicles is neat and clean.
- Serve as role model for patients by displaying responsible, cooperative, positive attitude, and exhibit good patient boundaries.
- Represents Key Recovery in a professional, courteous, friendly manner.
- Performs receptionist duties as needed to support leaves, absences, and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities for Residential Support Specialist Duties:
- Patient orientation, coordination of patient transportation, medication monitoring and documentation, and assign/oversee residential housekeeping duties and room checks.
- Conduct random UA testing and follow chain of custody procedure.
- Perform safety checks on patients and facility and identify facility maintenance issues.
- Work closely with clinical staff to reinforce positive recovery goals for patients and their children.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent training.
- Must have 1-2 yrs. of driving multiple seat or van type vehicles, transporting individuals around the Seattle area.
- Must have a current Washington State driver license and be insurable through company insurance.
- One-year residential customer service/healthcare specific experience preferred.
- Experience and understanding of substance use disorders and treatment; familiarity with the patient population served preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have good knowledge of the Seattle area and ability to navigate traffic safely and efficiently in and around Seattle.??
- Strong organizational skills to efficiently transport patients to appointments and destinations in a timely manner.
- Effective communication and people skills.?
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Ability to work independently with good problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a demanding environment.?
- Ability to show compassion and empathy. No history of misuse of alcohol or other drugs for a minimum of one year prior to employment with Key Recovery.?

Requires regular standing, walking, sitting, operating a motor vehicle, bending, lifting, smiling, sitting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, writing, typing, crouching, and climbing stairs. Staff in this position are required to: use both hands, hold, and handle items and office equipment; speak clearly, listen carefully and occasionally lift up to 20-25 pounds including assisting individuals in and out of the vans.?
