Maintenance Technician


Full-Time | Monday–Friday | On-Call Rotation


As a Maintenance Technician, you’re the go-to problem solver who keeps our community running smoothly. From completing service requests to preparing apartments for new residents, your work ensures our residents have a comfortable place to call home. If you enjoy fixing problems, working with your hands, and helping people, this role is for you. 


Schedule: Monday–Friday with a rotating on-call schedule for emergency maintenance, including evenings and weekends as needed.


Pay: Starts at $22 and is based on experience. For our opening at the Quimby on 23rd, we are offering a $1500 sign on bonus!

  

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to resident service requests within 24 hours
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems (furnaces, split systems, boilers, chillers)
  • Inspect and repair electrical systems, lighting, and fixtures
  • Install and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, and fixtures
  • Repair and maintain appliances (refrigerators, dishwashers, washers/dryers, stoves, microwaves)
  • Prepare vacant apartments for move-in readiness
  • Use Yardi to track service requests, preventive maintenance, and work progress
  • Conduct daily property walks to ensure safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal
  • Communicate with residents and team members regarding repairs and updates
  • Report major repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager
  • Maintain tools, inventory, and an organized workshop
  • Assist sister communities when needed
  • Support snow and ice removal during inclement weather
  • Follow all safety and compliance standards

  

Performance Expectations

  • Close out assigned work orders daily or document status updates
  • Maintain high resident satisfaction on service requests
  • Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed on schedule
  • Complete required training and compliance programs
  • Respond to all on-call emergency requests
Requirements

 What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or hotel engineering
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair
  • EPA / HVAC certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
    • New technicians may attend our in-house training to obtain CFC certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or computer for work orders and time tracking
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA safety standards
  • Ability to live within 1 hour of the property for on-call response

Additional Requirement: During inclement weather, maintenance team members may report earlier (between 6:00–7:00 AM) to assist with snow and ice removal.
