HR Generalist

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR recordkeeping. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring HR practices align with organizational policy, employment law, and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and hiring documentation.
     
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire paperwork, orientations, and exit documentation.
     
  • Ensure timely completion of background checks, credentialing, and required trainings.
     

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and HR processes.
     
  • Support employee relations matters, including performance concerns, attendance issues, workplace conflicts, and investigations.
     
  • Assist managers with corrective actions, documentation, and performance improvement plans.
     

Payroll, Timekeeping & Benefits Support

  • Support payroll processes, including timecard review, corrections, PTO tracking, and coordination with payroll providers.
     
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
     
  • Maintain accurate records related to leave (e.g., OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon, FMLA, as applicable).
     

Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain employee personnel files in compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
     
  • Support compliance with employment laws and regulations (e.g., wage and hour, leave laws, workers’ compensation).
     
  • Assist with audits, licensing reviews, and compliance reporting as needed.
     

HR Operations & Projects

  • Support updates to HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
     
  • Assist with HR reporting, data tracking, and metrics.
     
  • Participate in HR initiatives such as training coordination, engagement activities, and process improvements.
     
Salary Description
$45,000 to $60,000
