POSITION SUMMARY:
The Aquatics Supervisor supports the Full-Time Operations Supervisor in overseeing the daily operations of all aquatic attractions and water-based facilities. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring a safe, accessible, and enjoyable environment for all guests. The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, monitoring team member performance, and ensuring consistent adherence to IROC–Aquatics Operator standards. This role serves as an on-shift leader who promotes a positive guest experience while prioritizing risk awareness, emergency readiness, and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support the Full-Time Operations Supervisor in managing the daily operations of aquatic attractions and water safety programs.
- Monitor and evaluate team member performance, providing real-time coaching to reinforce safety protocols, guest service expectations, and operational consistency.
- Ensure all aquatic areas are operated in compliance with IROC–Aquatics Operator standards and park safety policies.
- Oversee completion of required safety checks, water-quality monitoring procedures, incident documentation, and operational logs.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for aquatic-related guest concerns, operational challenges, and safety issues.
- Assist in training and onboarding team members in aquatic safety procedures, emergency response protocols, accessibility standards, and guest service best practices.
- Lead daily staffing deployment, coordinate break schedules, and ensure adequate coverage across all aquatic areas.
- Maintain readiness to respond to aquatic emergencies, providing first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness, accessibility, and organization of aquatic facilities, decks, and equipment.
- Collaborate with park leadership, maintenance, and risk management to identify and resolve operational or safety concerns.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in aquatic operations, lifeguarding, or waterpark leadership required.
- Must be able to be certified as an IROC–Aquatics Operator.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred; ability to obtain if not already held.
- Strong understanding of aquatic safety practices, emergency response procedures, and accessibility standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and guide team members effectively.
- Excellent communication and guest service abilities, with a commitment to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm during high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of enforcing safety procedures with professionalism.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Physical ability to perform aquatic emergency responses, stand for extended periods, and lift or assist guests as required by park standards.
- Must complete all required training and maintain all certifications relevant to aquatic operations and emergency response.
