Position Overview

The Quoting & Sales Support Analyst plays a key role in supporting the stop-loss quoting process for self-funded health insurance plans. This entry-level position combines analytical responsibilities with sales support functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting internal sales consultants, brokers and reinsurers throughout the quoting cycle.


This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. While prior experience in health insurance or an active Life & Health license is a plus, it is not required.

  

Key Responsibilities

RFP & Sales Support Tasks:

  • Manage the RFP inbox and organize incoming requests.
  • Create and maintain folders for new RFPs.
  • Clean and validate census data for accuracy.
  • Prepare plan designs and enter data into internal systems.
  • Communicate with brokers to request missing information.
  • Draft and send RFP emails to reinsurers.
  • Track and update reinsurers on claims status.
  • Scrub health applications for completeness and compliance.

Quoting & Data Analysis Tasks:

  • Generate illustrative stop-loss quotes based on provided data.
  • Compile and compare quotes from multiple reinsurers using spreadsheets.
  • Update client status and quote progress in the database daily.

  


Requirements

 General Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with internal teams,      brokers, and carriers.
  • Work semi-independently in a high-volume environment while maintaining      accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve errors before they      escalate.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Regular communication with team members via email, phone, and virtual meetings.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Skills:
    • High proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office Suite.
    • Familiarity with quoting tools is not required but is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Mathematical reasoning for accurate quote calculations.
    • Deductive and inductive reasoning to interpret data and trends.
    • Information ordering for organizing data and workflows.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of health insurance and stop-loss products.
  • Active Life & Health license (optional but preferred).
  • Previous experience in sales support or quoting roles is a plus.

Salary Description
$50,000 - $55,000 per year
