Experience a summer “Where Adventure Grows!” Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our 2026 Summer Camp Team supporting our overnight camp programs across all Council properties: Camp Mary Atkinson, Camp Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni.

We are seeking a Summer Camp Operations Manager to support our overnight camp program at Camp Mary Atkinson. This position may also support smaller program groups operating at Camp Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni throughout the summer. Transportation will be provided from Camp Mary Atkinson to the other camp properties as needed.
Position: Summer Camp Operations Manager
Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC (with travel to other Council camps as needed)
Duration: Summer 2026 (mid-May through the end of July)
Compensation: Weekly salary of $530.00, including housing and meals after training.
We’re excited to offer summer camp staff the opportunity to earn up to a $500 bonus this summer!
Here’s how it works:
- $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: Camp staff hired for the summer who remain employed through the end of June will receive a $250 bonus.
- $250 Completion Bonus: Camp staff who remain employed through the end of summer camp will receive a $250 bonus.
A Day in the Life:
- Supervise Campers and Staff: The Summer Camp Operations Manager reports to the Camp Director.
- Plan & Lead Activities: The Summer Camp Operations Manager will direct the overall business operation of the camp, including; purchasing, Facebook communications, camper email service, photography, customer service, and financial records. This position involves considerable independent work as well as being an effective member of a team.

- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience in business or office settings.
- Knowledge of and experience in business: ordering, inventory, cash management, and office equipment use.
- Ability to work within a budget and purchase supplies efficiently.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to interact with all age levels.
- Valid Driver's license.
- On-site housing is optional.
Physical Aspects of the Job:
- Ability to communicate verbally and written.
- Ability to safely and Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.properly operate business equipment. - Manual dexterity to utilize computers and other office equipment.
- Endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching.
- Willing to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc.
