What You Will Be Doing
The Commercial Loan Workout Officer plays a key role in managing and overseeing the Bank’s credit risk framework, loan portfolio performance, and problem loan resolution activities. This role partners closely with senior leadership to ensure strong credit governance, regulatory readiness, and proactive risk management while supporting the Bank’s strategic growth objectives.
How You Will Get the Job Done
- Credit Administration & Loan Review: Under the direction of the Chief Credit Officer, maintain the Bank’s Loan Policy and approval process. Coordinate audit and exam preparation, including data compilation and reporting. In conjunction with the Loan Review function, execute the Company’s Board-approved Loan Review program, conducting reviews of individual loans and relationships to ensure accurate assessment of asset quality, underwriting, documentation, and repayment performance. Review and approve credit actions if and as designated in the Bank’s Loan Policy.
- Workout Management: Manage a portfolio of active problem loans across C&I and Commercial Real Estate of varying size and complexity. Develop and execute resolution strategies that maximize value, minimize loss, and control expenses. Analyze loan documentation, collateral, and borrower and guarantor financials; negotiate restructures and settlements; and initiate legal action when appropriate. Provide ongoing status updates on workout loans to management and the Loan Committee
- Credit Risk Management & Portfolio Analysis: Responsible for analysis and reporting in support of Enterprise Risk Management and Credit Administration objectives as determined by the Chief Credit Officer and the company’s strategic plan. Perform portfolio stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and risk stratification to identify emerging risks and potential weaknesses. Prepare periodic reporting for management, Loan Committee, Board of Directors, and Audit Committee, including loan review results and workout portfolio status. Ensure loans are risk rated timely and accurately in accordance with policy and regulatory guidance.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Chief Credit Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Loan Review Officer, and lines of business on credit risk, workout strategies, and portfolio quality assessments. Serve as a liaison between credit, lending, and risk functions. Support regulatory and financial audits and examinations. Identify and implement process efficiencies and enhancements to risk management and client service. Develop and deliver training across credit and lending teams and may manage junior analysts and members of the Credit Administration team.

Professional & Educational Experience You Bring
A Bachelor’s Degree from College or University and a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Credit Administration, loan workout or Loan Review; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

For this position, we anticipate a pay range between $146,000 and $218,000 per year. Final offers will vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and Bank performance.
