Material Specialist

Scope:

The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the inventory system within the warehouse. This position is responsible for managing inbound shipments, conducting regular inventory audits, coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring optimal stock levels to support smooth business operations. The role also involves addressing discrepancies, maintaining warehouse organization, and contributing to continuous process improvement. The Inventory Specialist works closely with departments such as material handling, purchasing, sales, and quality to ensure accurate inventory records and timely order fulfillment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


· Receive and process inbound shipments

· Inspect and provide documentation for inbound shipments

· Follow written audit processes

· Coordinate with carriers and vendors for shipments and to resolve issues

· Perform daily cycle counts and end of month counts

· Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records

· Communicate stock levels and other relevant information to multiple departments including material handling, purchasing, sales, and quality

· Investigate inventory and shipment discrepancies and report findings

· Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization

Requirements

Qualifications:


· High school degree or equivalent

· 1-year experience in inventory management preferred

· Experience with using an ERP system

· Proficient in Microsoft office including MS word, outlook, and excel

· Ability to compile data, write reports and correspondence

· Excellent analytical and communication skills

· Highly organized and detail oriented

· Able to prioritize and coordinate daily tasks

· Positive and adaptive attitude

· Strong math skills
