The Lot Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining a professional and inviting dealership atmosphere. You'll be responsible for ensuring the organization, cleanliness, and security of the dealership's vehicle inventory. This includes parking, moving, and showcasing vehicles, while providing support to sales and service departments.
Responsibilities:
- Park, organize, and track vehicles across the lot, showroom floor, and service department
- Conduct visual inspections of incoming and outgoing vehicles, documenting any existing damage
- Position high-demand vehicles for maximum customer visibility
- Ensure all vehicles display proper window stickers, pricing, and Mercedes-Benz of Maui branding
- Maintain clean and presentable vehicles by removing debris and addressing environmental wear
- Assist with vehicle pre-delivery prep including washing and vacuuming
- Move sold vehicles and refresh showroom floor inventory as needed
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as topping off fluids or replacing batteries per dealership policy
- Greet customers on the lot with a friendly, professional attitude
- Answer basic questions about vehicle features and availability; direct customers to sales staff as needed
- Assist with test drive preparation including retrieving keys and paperwork
- Keep the lot clean and orderly by removing trash and debris
- Report safety hazards or lot maintenance needs to a supervisor promptly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for keeping the lot organized and presentable.
- Good physical condition able to perform manual labor tasks (walking, bending, pushing/pulling vehicles).
Physical Requirements
- Standing and Walking: Attendants spend significant time on their feet, walking around the dealership lot and moving vehicles.
- Lifting and Pushing: They must be able to lift up to 50lbs of equipment and push cars, often in tight spaces.
- Reaching and Bending: Attendants frequently reach, bend, and stoop to access vehicle doors and features.
- Weather Tolerance: Attendants must be able to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
