Position Summary
The Director of Resource Development (DRD) is a key member of our leadership team and the driving force behind our fundraising strategy. This role leads all contributed revenue efforts—including individual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, donor stewardship, and annual fund development.
The DRD works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, Resource Development Committee, and external partners to build a strong culture of philanthropy and execute a comprehensive, metric-driven development plan. This is a highly relational, donor-facing role focused on revenue generation—not event logistics or administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities: Fundraising Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute a 12–18 month fundraising plan aligned with organizational priorities.
- Build and manage a diversified fundraising portfolio (individual giving, major gifts, corporate partners, foundations, sponsorships, annual giving).
- Lead revenue projections, track progress to goals, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Oversee CRM systems, reporting, and dashboards to ensure accurate donor data.
- Provide strategic leadership for event revenue; logistics are supported by other staff/partners.
Major Gifts & Individual Giving
- Build and manage a robust major donor pipeline with clear cultivation and solicitation plans.
- Conduct 10–15 donor/prospect touchpoints weekly (calls, meetings, cultivation activities).
- Partner with the CEO on top prospects and joint donor meetings.
- Lead direct response fundraising (mail, email, monthly giving).
- Support grants strategy and proposal development (grant writing may be supported by others).
Corporate Giving & Sponsorships
- Develop and manage a corporate engagement and sponsorship program.
- Create customized proposals and benefit packages.
- Conduct proactive outreach to secure new and renewed corporate partnerships.
Board & Volunteer Engagement
- Support the CEO in cultivating a fundraising-driven Board culture.
- Provide Board members with tools, training, and follow-up support for donor engagement.
- Collaborate with the Resource Development Committee on strategy and progress.
Stewardship & Donor Experience
- Oversee a comprehensive stewardship program including acknowledgments, impact updates, donor recognition, and thank-you outreach.
- Ensure donors experience consistent, personalized engagement that strengthens long-term commitment.
Event Revenue (Strategy Only)
- Serve as the strategic lead for event revenue and sponsorships.
- Support event committees with donor engagement; logistics handled by other staff.
Marketing/Communications (Collaborative)
- Partner with marketing/communications staff or contractors to ensure compelling fundraising messaging.
- Provide donor stories and impact content as needed.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive fundraising experience, including individual giving and corporate partnerships.
- Proven success in major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and donor stewardship.
- Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and donor cultivation principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High capacity for relationship-building and meeting revenue targets.
- Proficiency with donor databases (Salesforce, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Blackbaud, etc.).
- Ability to work evenings/weekends for donor events as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Performance ExpectationsWeekly:

Monthly:
- Maintain a prospect pipeline 3–5× annual revenue targets
- Provide dashboard reports to CEO and Board committees
Quarterly:
- Progress toward annual revenue goals
- Donor retention and upgrade rates
- Sponsorship performance
- Major gift solicitations completed
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of fundraising techniques and nonprofit revenue strategies.
- Ability to organize and coordinate fundraising operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with staff, Board members, volunteers, and community partners.
- Knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs mission and youth development principles preferred.
