Position Summary
Reporting to Marketing, the Innovation Brand Manager plays a critical role at the intersection of consumer insight, analytics, and R&D. Rooted in deep consumer- and customer-centric thinking, this role serves as the connective tissue between early-stage ideas and successful market launches.
The Innovation Brand Manager owns commercial validation from concept through commercialization, ensuring new ideas are grounded in clear market opportunity, compelling positioning, and strong financial rationale. This role leads market sizing, competitive assessment, and early business case development, and partners cross-functionally to guide innovation through launch and lifecycle management. A strong command of SPINS and related data sources is essential to inform decision-making at every phase.
Essential Functions
Business Validation & Market Analysis
- Evaluate commercial opportunities for innovation, including market sizing, price-pack architecture, competitive benchmarking, and cannibalization analysis, using SPINS and other syndicated data sources independently.
- Translate consumer insights, customer needs, and category trends into clear business requirements that shape early product concepts.
- Own and implement a structured concept briefing process to ensure all innovation ideas are consistently evaluated and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Define and reinforce commercial guardrails—including pricing targets, retailer requirements, and channel priorities—throughout the development process.
- Build and manage financial models and P&Ls for new products to ensure viability prior to launch.
- Partner on portfolio architecture by shaping price ladders, pack sizes, and packaging strategies; regularly assess existing breads and proactively recommend optimization or discontinuation.
Commercialization & Go-to-Market
- Maintain and manage a rolling 12–18 months innovation pipeline in collaboration with Sales, R&D, and Operations, aligned to retail resets, e-commerce timelines, production lead times, and marketing calendars.
- Lead the innovation briefing process, providing clear recommendations on positioning, value propositions, claims hierarchy, and execution guardrails across channels.
- Develop sell-in presentations, launch toolkits, FAQs, and channel strategies; support shopper marketing efforts to maximize in-market performance and internal alignment.
- Lead post-launch performance reviews in partnership with analytics, synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations for portfolio optimization and lifecycle management.
- Identify and support consumer research initiatives as needed, translating research findings into clear strategies, positioning, and compelling selling stories.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, eCommerce, or related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in CPG product management, brand management, or commercialization roles within high-growth companies, with a proven track record of successfully analyzing and interpreting complex data.
- SPINS, Circana, or NIQ - CPG experience required, ideally food.
- Experience with household panel data (e.g., Circana, Numerator) preferred.
- Experience executing and interpreting consumer research is a plus.
- Relevant experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), ERP/shipment data software is highly desirable.

- P&L experience: Experience building and managing P&L to assess margins and achieve company financial goals.
- Development: Hands-on experience leading products through a stage-gate commercialization process and completing SKU rationalization assessments.
- Commitment to quality: You understand that nothing can stand in the way of the perfect final customer and consumer experience, quality is paramount and cutting corners is never an option.

Compensation is based on the level of experience, other relevant experience, and requirements of the position. The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.
Base Salary Range: $110,000 to $125,000 plus annual bonus
