About Heritage Auctions

Heritage Auctions is the world’s largest collectibles auction house and a technology-driven marketplace leader. Our platforms support millions of registered bidder-members and billions in annual transactions across more than 50 specialty categories. As our technology ecosystem grows beyond the web platform, consistent functional quality across enterprise systems, integrations, and internal applications is critical to protecting revenue, reputation, and client trust.

POSITION SUMMARY

Heritage Auctions is expanding its Quality Engineering capability to close functional testing gaps outside the web platform while establishing consistent functional testing standards across all systems. This QA Engineer role supports the centralized Quality Engineering function and is hands-on where formal QA coverage does not exist—such as enterprise applications, integrations, and internal systems—and coordinative where testing is already embedded, particularly on the web platform.

Functional testing for the web is executed by the Digital Commerce team, and non-functional web testing (automation, performance, reliability) is owned by SDET resources embedded with Web Development. This role does not perform day-to-day web testing, but helps ensure functional testing expectations and readiness remain consistent across platforms.

BENEFITS:

  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) Savings Plan
  • Onsite gym with access to a personal trainer
  • Hybrid work flexibility

LOCATION: Our Headquarters is conveniently located south of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, at the NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Execute functional testing for non-web systems, including:

       - Enterprise and internal business applications

       - APIs and system integrations

       - Service-to-service workflows and data flows

  • Design, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and exploratory testing for systems lacking formal QA coverage.
  • Coordinate and support functional testing standards and release readiness for the web platform without executing web tests.
  • Partner closely with centralized QA leadership to:

       - Reinforce consistent functional testing expectations across teams

       - Identify coverage gaps and functional risk areas

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) readiness across systems by:

       - Preparing and organizing test cases

       - Validating environments and test data

       - Facilitating clear handoffs to business stakeholders (QA supports; the business validates)

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and surface quality risks early.
  • Assist with defect triage, documentation, prioritization, and root-cause analysis.
  • Help evolve functional QA practices for:

       - API and integration testing

       - Data-driven and AI-enabled workflows, including behavioral regression and input variability testing

  • Temporarily embed with non-web teams when additional functional QA support is needed.
Requirements

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of experience in QA or software testing roles.
  • Strong experience with functional testing of enterprise or internal business applications.
  • Working knowledge of:

       - API testing concepts, including REST services, integrations, and contracts

       - Test case design, execution, and defect tracking

  • Comfort working across multiple systems and teams simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to execute day-to-day testing responsibilities while aligning closely with centralized QA leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
  • Exposure to test automation or scripting.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD environments and modern delivery practices.
  • Experience testing data-heavy or AI-enabled systems.
  • Experience working in organizations with embedded testers and centralized QA governance.
  • Experience or working familiarity with one or more of the following development platforms or technologies:

       - PHP

       - SQL and relational databases

       - .NET-based applications

       - Python-based systems or services

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Enterprise and internal systems have clear, repeatable functional test coverage.
  • Functional testing expectations are consistent across web and non-web platforms.
  • Web teams maintain velocity while operating under shared quality standards.
  • UAT is structured, predictable, and owned by the business.
  • Functional defects are identified earlier and categorized more effectively.
