Description

Key Responsibilities

As a Commodity Sales Organics Executive (Organics Waste Solutions), you will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable practices by developing and maintaining relationships with outlets and vendors that partner with Northstar to service organics disposition and processing from our client’s manufacturing plants. You will leverage your analytical and business acumen to strategically identify and implement solutions, contributing directly to waste reduction. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist with problem resolution for organics recycling streams/outlets.
  • Research new recycling trends and technologies.
  • Analyze complex data sets related to waste streams, market trends, and outlet capabilities, with a focus on identifying solutions that maximize resource recovery.
  • Synthesize data insights into actionable plans and strategies for implementing efficient, cost-effective, and beneficial organics recycling solutions.
  • Review and negotiate contracts for complex solutions.
  • Assist with new client onboarding as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Manage relationships with Outlet partners to maximize potential returns for Northstar and the Clients.
  • Own the category(ies) assigned to maximize net commercial benefit to Northstar and to the Clients.

Technical Job Requirements

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills to perform cost analyses and in-depth data manipulation, including the ability to track and report on metrics.
  • Effectively conduct phone, email, and in-person negotiation demonstrating robust interpersonal and relationship building finesse. 
  • Comfort with cold calling.
  • Strong technical problem solving and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into strategic insights that drive both economic and environmental value.
  • Manage a large volume of tasks and can prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel throughout North America 3 – 5 times per year to conduct outlet visits/audits, ensuring adherence to environmental best practices.   
  • 4-year degree in Science or Business field with a focus on Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline OR 2 years of relevant professional experience in a business analysis, strategic planning, or sustainability-focused role.

This position is available as a remote position. This is a salaried role and does not offer a commission structure, though it is eligible for annual performance-based wage increases.   

This position requires a valid driver's license and a clean driving record as a condition of employment.
