Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager (Production) leads the engineering organization responsible for scaling, sustaining, and continuously improving high-volume manufacturing of precision hydraulic fittings used in spacecraft propulsion, pressurization, and fluid handling systems. This role emphasizes production execution, rate readiness, yield, quality, and cost rather than research and development.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Owns manufacturing rate readiness, capacity planning, and production scaling
• Leads manufacturing, process, and sustaining engineers supporting CNC machining, assembly, and test
• Drive cycle-time reduction, yield improvement, and cost-down initiatives
• Implement DFM/DFA for new product introductions with rapid transition to production
• Establish and maintain production documentation, work instructions, and control plans
• Partner with Quality to maintain AS9100-aligned processes and audit readiness
• Develop and maintain part standards, drawings, and specifications
• Specify tooling, fixturing, automation, and test equipment
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure delivery commitments
• Build and mentor a production-focused engineer team
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
• 7-12+ years in manufacturing engineering with 3-6+ years of people leadership
• Experience scaling high-volume precision manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, torque, pressure and leak testing
• Hands-on leadership style with strong factory floor presence
