Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic/Technician experienced in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing 53 ft dry van cargo trailers pulled by tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trailer systems, be detail-oriented, and capable of performing diagnostic work, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
- Proven experience repairing and maintaining tractor-trailer cargo trailers (53 ft dry vans preferred).
- Strong knowledge of trailer brake systems, suspension, tires, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and work in varying conditions.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

- Perform thorough inspections on 53 ft dry van trailers, identifying mechanical and structural issues.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, doors, landing gear, and tires.
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service records and report any issues to management.
- Ensure work area and tools are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
