MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION:

A four-year degree in the engineering field, preferably in the Mechanical, Aerospace or related discipline.  M.S. degree in a technical field is a plus.


EXPERIENCE: 

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of product development experience and at least two to three (2-3) years of Engineering management experience. Ten (10) years’ experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Technical:

  • Develop and execute technical, budgetary and staffing plans to support programs, projects and production activities
  • Establish priorities, conduct critical reviews and provide technical direction as necessary
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to define project/program requirements, scope, schedule and objectives
  • Enhance and refine product development processes to ensure programs are executed on time, within budget, and achieve optimal performance outcomes
  • Support Business Group requests to address customer issues, inquiries, and efforts to pursue opportunities
  • Support and contribute to B&P, RFI, RFP and Market Survey responses

Financial:

  • Generate and execute plans to meet department, program and project financial objectives
  • Establish and track metrics to meet department level financial objectives
  • Execute projects and programs to the approved budget line

Process:

  • Establish and track metrics to assess project/program, organization and employee performance, and implement corrective actions as required
  • Conduct critical review of plans, processes and results, and provide direction that ensures compliance with policies, procedures and objectives
  • Identify and implement process and procedure improvements
  • Conduct periodic staff meetings to communicate status, priorities and general information
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, QEPs, CSPs, HR and Health & Safety policies
  • Schedule flexibility to support critical deadlines may be required

People:

  • Generate and maintain employee development and training plans
  • Determine and evaluate skill set capability and needs, and address deficiencies
  • Provide real time coaching and counseling, and conduct annual appraisals
  • Conduct training, and recommend promotions, wage increases and discipline as required
  • Schedule flexibility to support critical deadlines may be required.
