Description
The Sr. Demand Planner is responsible for developing, analyzing and implementing a high-quality finished goods forecast at the aggregate and item detail level.
- Forecasting: Develop accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, promotions, and seasonality.
- Collaboration: Work with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to align forecasts and plans.
- Inventory Optimization: Balance inventory levels to meet demand while reducing costs.
- Data Analysis: Utilize tools like Excel, BC14 & Power BI to analyze data and identify insights.
- Process Improvement: Drive efficiency in the supply chain planning process.
JOB SUMMARY
- Develop and manage the monthly demand plan for assigned product lines and channels. This includes using analytical techniques to build baseline and appropriate aggregate level forecasts.
- Leverage planning system and gather qualitative internal input from business partners to appropriately develop forecasts to support the company’s sales and inventory objectives.
- Identify potential changes in demand by analyzing shipment activity, historical data, market trends, promotional activity, and other events, historical or current, which may impact future customer demand.
- Track and report forecast accuracy (actual sales vs. forecast vs. budget) including accuracy root cause and make recommendations to improve demand and business process efficiency.
- Build constructive relationships within the company to facilitate open communication, especially as relates to forecast/inventory matters.
- Facilitate monthly demand review for all forecasted Brands to review performance, trends, and targets.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and proven planning experience while demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills in face paced environments
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years of planning experience
- Strong computer skills (Power Point, Excel & Word) and the proven ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Must be able to navigate stairs several times per day
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., stand several hours a day, and climb ladders as needed
