Budget is seeking an experienced Automotive Claims and Fleet Manager to oversee fleet maintenance operations, body damage claims processing, and vendor relationships with the efficiency and precision of a high-performing service department. This role combines strategic fleet management with hands-on claims leadership, ideal for a results-oriented professional who has successfully driven profitability through effective shop operations, vendor negotiations, and downtime reduction.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Lifecycle Management
- Oversee vehicle in-fleeting and out-fleeting processes, including thorough inspections, onboarding, and decommissioning
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of vehicle condition, mileage, and associated costs from acquisition through auction
Preventative Maintenance Leadership
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and control repair expenses
- Ensure full compliance with OEM guidelines and regulatory requirements
Body Damage and Claims Management
- Prepare accurate repair estimates with attention to detail
- Coordinate with approved body shops, review and authorize supplements, and expedite claim closures
- Manage insurance documentation and follow-up processes efficiently
Fuel Program Oversight
- Monitor fuel usage, expenses, KDHE certifications, and required reporting
- Optimize fuel budgets through effective cost management
Parts and Inventory Management
- Maintain adequate stock of tools, supplies, and parts to support uninterrupted technician productivity
- Eliminate downtime caused by inventory shortages
Vendor Relationship and Contract Management
- Cultivate strong, long-term partnerships with body shops, parts suppliers, and fuel vendors
- Negotiate competitive pricing, service-level agreements, and turnaround times that exceed industry standards

- Demonstrated success in vendor negotiation and contract management
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Preferred: Proficiency with inventory management software or fleet maintenance tracking systems
