Job Summary
The Studio Youth Development Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality programming in the Club’s creative studio, including music production, podcasting, digital recording, songwriting, beat-making, and multimedia arts. This role blends technical studio skills with youth development principles to foster creativity, confidence, self-expression, and leadership while ensuring a safe and engaging Club environment.
Job Functions
Program Development and Implementation
• Plan and deliver studio-based programs including music production, podcasting, beat-making, and digital media.
• Teach proper use of studio equipment such as microphones, soundboards, cameras, and podcast tools.
• Maintain clean, safe, and functional studio spaces.
• Integrate youth development strategies to promote teamwork, leadership, and creative expression.
• Provide youth performance and showcase opportunities.
Youth Development
• Create a safe and supportive environment using trauma-informed practices.
• Provide active supervision and mentoring.
• Affirm positive behavior and deliver coaching conversations as needed.
• Support emotional, social, and creative growth.
Daily Program Activities
• Set up and clean studio spaces before and after programming.
• Communicate program agendas and expectations.
• Facilitate structured sessions aligned with BGCA Core Program Pillars.
• Uphold safety guidelines and equipment procedures.
Program Administration & Reporting
• Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes.
• Maintain documentation of activities and youth achievements.
• Participate in staff meetings and training.
Additional Responsibilities
• Assist with studio showcases and special events.
• Support partnerships with schools, universities, and community music organizations.
• Represent the Club positively and maintain an organized program environment.
• Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
Relationships
Internal: Daily contact with Club Director, staff, volunteers, and youth members.

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in music, digital arts, or youth development preferred.
• Experience working with youth.
• Ability to plan and facilitate studio programming.
• Knowledge of music recording, digital production, or podcasting.
• CPR/First Aid preferred.

Environmental and Working Conditions
Indoor studio settings, classrooms, and occasional outdoor areas. Frequent interaction with youth and partners. Some travel required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to lift 25–50 lbs, stand, walk, and move equipment. Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment and maintain awareness for safety.
