Organization Description
The Center on Colfax has grown to become the largest LGBTQ+ community center in the Rocky Mountain region. The Center is a collaborative leader that positively impacts the lived experience of LGBTQ+ people in Denver and Colorado by creating inclusive programs and events, fostering connections, and leveraging the individual and collective strengths of the community. In addition, the Center produces Denver PrideFest/Parade/Pride 5K, the largest Pride celebration in the Rocky Mountain Region.
Position Description
The Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships is a seasoned leader in grassroots fundraising and industry engagement at various levels. This demanding and rewarding role oversees all corporate engagement with The Center including the sponsorship opportunities for Denver Pride as well as The Center’s business partner program (RANGE) and other various engagement and service opportunities provided by The Center.
In addition to bringing in critical revenue to The Center through philanthropy, this role will also support the engagement of local, queer and ally-owned businesses ensuring The Center is fulfilling its responsibility to our community.
The Center strives to be user-centric rather than transactional. We want our donors—including our corporate partners—to connect with our mission and see the impact of their dollars. We won’t accept funds from organizations that cause harm or spread hate. The Center is in transition. There is a new leadership team and organization strategy with goals to expand the organization’s ability to support and reach beyond Colorado. Transitions like this can be challenging and chaotic. This position does not manage direct-reports and expectations range from administrative to strategic. In June, The Center is all hands on deck for Denver Pride, meaning there is scheduled time off during that month and job duties may vary.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Establishes targets and creates various strategies to engage small, medium, and large-size businesses.
· Researches, tracks, and cultivates a portfolio of corporate partners through pipelines.
· Builds meaningful relationships on behalf of The Center with a consistent cadence of communications and follow-up.
· Monitors trends in corporate giving including assessing risk for various partnerships.
· Ensures minimum sponsorship goals are met.
· Designs sponsorship packages and establishes promotion timelines to potential sponsors for Denver Pride and other Center engagement activities.
· Updates the website and other materials as needed.
· Presents and represents corporate partnership strategies through presentations to the board, prospects, and other stakeholders.
· Ensures reporting responsibilities and sponsorship obligations are fulfilled by The Center.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5-years within a corporate sales, fundraising, or sponsorship role resulting in revenue.
· 5+ years of experience with non-profits.
· Ability to work full-time, in-person at The Center on Colfax.
· Understanding of CRM systems and donor/sponsor tracking.
· Ability to travel to meet with prospects and donors.
· Ability to work during the weekends or evenings.
· Strong computer/software skills.
· Demonstrated commitment to LGBTQ+ visibility, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect authentically across diverse communities and age groups.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Familiarity with Colorado’s LGBTQ+ landscape and issues preferred.
- Passing a criminal history background check required.
Working Conditions
- In-office work model with in-person environment.
- Frequent communication and coordination with internal staff and community partners.
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and occasionally loud environment, particularly during events such as Denver PrideFest.
- Must be available to work Denver PrideFest the fourth weekend of June each year.
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation.
