Administrative Assistant
Description

St. James Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Missouri is seeking a part time Administrative Assistant to work mornings. This position will be responsible for a full range of administrative and secretarial  responsibilities for members of the parish and school staff and other committees and boards. This is a part time position working an average of 20 hours a week.  


 Essential Duties:

  • Greet visitors and answer phones.
  • Maintain office record keeping systems.
  • Schedule appointments, process mail, and type letters, reports and memos.
  • Provide clerical support to pastor and staff members.
  • Perform basic office duties, i.e., maintaining office supplies, cleaning, etc.
  • Prepare the weekly bulletin.
  • Maintains sacramental record-keeping system.
  • Provide a variety of other clerical services.

Qualifications:


Required:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience as Administrative Assistant/Secretary.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
