POSITION SUMMARY

   ????This internship emphasizes mentorship, hands-on learning, and practical exposure rather than independent ownership of production systems. As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will work alongside experienced IT and security professionals and gain hands-on exposure to a variety of security and IT functions. ?  


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

This role is designed to be learning-focused, with responsibilities that may include: 

  • ?Learning how endpoint security platforms are used in an enterprise environment, including observing alert monitoring and response activities (e.g., CrowdStrike) 
  • ?Gaining exposure to identity and access management processes such as user onboarding, access changes, and periodic access reviews 
  • ?Assisting with basic networking and firewall-related tasks to understand how network security is implemented and maintained 
  • ?Supporting system administration activities in Windows and Linux environments, including patching, configuration reviews, and routine maintenance 
  • ?Participating in IT operations and helpdesk workflows to understand how security and IT intersect in day-to-day support 
  • ?Observing and assisting with vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, and security hygiene efforts 
  • ?Helping document security procedures, technical processes, and policies to support consistency and knowledge sharing 
  • ?Learning how security incidents, audits, and compliance activities are handled in a real-world environment 
  • ?Contributing to security-related projects under guidance and supervision 
  • ?Developing an understanding of organizational security policies and best practices for handling sensitive information 

Education Requirements

 

  • ????Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree, or continued education within IT vertical. 
  • ?Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time during the shift.   
  • ?Pursuing Cybersecurity or Networking certifications. 

?Nice to have (But not required) 

  • ?Security certifications or coursework toward certifications (e.g., Security+) 
  • ?Participation in CTFs, cyber competitions, or security clubs 
  • ?Personal labs, home projects, or hands-on experimentation with security tools 
  • ?Exposure to tools like Wireshark, Nmap, or similar through classes or projects?

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sedentary office work with computer-based tasks
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and technology
  • May require occasional work in server rooms or network closets
  • Ability to work standard business hours with some flexibility
  • No travel required
