Position Overview:
The Development Coordinator is a highly organized, detail - oriented professional who provides essential administrative and logistical support to the Development Team. This position is a full-time year-round position that will report to the Development Manager. The role plays a vital part in the success of the department by supporting all aspects of fundraising and stewardship events, including our signature gala, A Taste of Nature, EdVentures and Holiday Open House, and taking a lead on the gala’s live and online auction. The ideal candidate is a proactive, problem solver who enjoys working both behind the scenes and donor-facing to ensure that every interaction and event is executed with success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Events, Auction & Logistics Support:
- Support the Development Team with the planning and execution of our A Taste of Nature annual gala (early July).
- Lead the administration of ATON live and online auctions, including solicitations as well as item, gift certificate, photo and logo procurement and related tracking, description writing, auction displays and winner fulfillment.
- Support the Development Manager in all aspects of non-fundraising development related events, including, but not limited to, EdVentures, Corporate Partner activations, and the Holiday Open House.
- Responsible for venue setup and breakdown, F&B, and remote meeting A/V set up for various meetings and initiatives, including Development Team, Development Committee, ATON Committee, and Board of Trustee meetings and retreats.
- Maintain Development Team storage area and tracking/replenishment of inventory, including event decor, supplies, and donor apparel and alcohol inventory.
- Obtain in-kind donations to support development related events as needed from time to time (e.g. flowers, alcohol, food, services).
Administrative
- Support the Development Manager in the creation and maintenance of individual non-fundraising event budgets against budgeted expenses for the fiscal year.
- Support the Development Manager in the creation and maintenance of event planning timelines and action items for non-fundraising development related events and initiatives.
- Support the Development Team by conducting prospect and current and lapsed donor research.
- Assist the Development Manager in exploring a possible second event to engage the next generation of donors,
- Represent Walking Mountains at all Eagle County Gives meetings and events and provide the minimum required level of volunteer support to maintain its membership status.
Development Team Duties
- Participate in regular Development Team, Development Committee, and All-Staff meetings along with All Staff and Development retreats.
- Create individual annual plan.
- Attend community events as requested to provide logistical support.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Extremely well organized with the ability to efficiently multi-task.
- Excellent written and oral communication skill
- Strong interpersonal skills, an upbeat attitude and a calm, professional demeanor
- Ability to interact with donors and prospects with a “hospitality mindset”.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite along with the proficiencies necessary to quickly utilize Bloomerang (donor database), including experience utilizing Excel, Google Sheets and Google Docs to fulfill the requirements of the position outlined above.
- Effective collaborator, when working across departments, including Development, Programs, Marketing, and Finance, along with outside vendors and partners.
- Attention to detail, timelines and related deadlines.
Preferred
- 1-2 years of previous event management and production skills; eye for organizing events that appeal to donors and prospects.
- 1 year of non-profit work.
- Experience with cash and in-kind solicitations or similar sales or non-profit experience.
Work Environment
- This is a dynamic role that is primarily located in the Avon office with some offsite meetings as well as events on and off site.
- This job will require work in the evenings and on weekends for events.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (including moving event gear/wine cases).
- Requires off site pick up/delivery of items.
- Setup/breakdown of events at our Avon Campus as well as off-campus in both indoor and outdoor settings.
