Job Summary
The Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor, at the direction of the Distribution Center Manager, is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high levels of accuracy in inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping processes. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to optimize distribution efficiency while upholding company policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management
- Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping orders.
- Monitor workflow and adjust staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper storage, cycle counting, and stock management practices.
- Will be the immediate back up for when the Distribution Center Manager is not onsite.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members to meet productivity and quality targets.
- Partnering with the Distribution Center Manager, assist with performance evaluations and provide feedback. Work with Distribution Center Manager to identify individual performance issues and implement performance improvement plans.
- Schedule and allocate resources to meet distribution demands.
2. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report potential hazards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas to prevent accidents.
3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, fulfillment time, and productivity metrics.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to management.
- Ensure all shipments are properly documented and meet customer requirements.
- Assist in the implementation of new warehouse technologies and systems.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
4. Inventory and Quality Control
- Ensure accurate inventory movement and documentation.
- Collaborate with inventory control staff to conduct cycle counts and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor order accuracy and product quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve distribution errors or customer complaints.
- At least three years of progressively responsible related work in a Distribution Center/warehouse, preferably with at least two years of supervisory experience
- Proven high degree of organizational skills and strong problem resolution capacities.
- A positive attitude with strong communication skills

- Experience with Excel is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical/Other Requirements
- Lifting of a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Standing, lifting, twisting, bending, walking and sitting.
- Basic computer proficiency; ability to utilize telephone.
