Receptionist – Xiente (Philadelphia)

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for families, staff, visitors, and community partners at Xiente. This role supports the organization’s mission by providing a welcoming, organized, and professional front-desk experience. The Receptionist ensures smooth daily operations by managing communication, assisting with administrative tasks, and maintaining a positive, service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, families, and staff in a warm, professional manner.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to general inquiries.
  • Maintain visitor logs, sign-in procedures, and front-desk security protocols.
  • Assist with scheduling, appointment reminders, and distributing information to families and staff.
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and data entry.
  • Receive and sort mail, packages, and internal documents.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
  • Provide support to program staff, HR, and leadership as needed.
  • Uphold confidentiality and follow all organizational policies, including HIPAA and child-safety requirements.
Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in customer service, reception, or administrative support preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage a busy front desk.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, scheduling tools).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work with diverse families and community members.
  • Required clearances: Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI.
Salary Description
$16.35 per hour (approximately $34,008 annually)
