 POSITION SUMMARY: The Grill & Pro Shop Attendant at Coyote Del Malpais Golf Course performs a variety of duties supporting the daily operations of both the grill and the Pro Shop. This position plays a key role in providing excellent customer service to golfers and guests while ensuring food service and pro shop operations smoothly. Primary responsibilities include taking and preparing food and beverage orders, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, stocking supplies, and assisting with opening and closing duties. In addition, this position may assist in the pro shop by checking in golfers, setting up tee times, handling point-of-sale transactions, and providing general customer assistance as needed. The Grill and Pro Shop Attendant must demonstrate flexibility, integrity, strong customer service skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules. Additional duties may be assigned as operational needs require.

   

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

 

The Golf Course Grill attendant must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following essential job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation:

· Assist customers with food and beverage selection by describing menu items, daily specials, or menu changes; answer food preparation questions; record customer selections; and upsell when appropriate. Relay orders to the kitchen or prepare food directly, identifying any special requests and accurately entering orders into the register

· Deliver food and beverage orders to customers with appropriate accompaniments or garnishes; ensure orders meet quality, sanitation, and presentation standards; package take-out orders as needed; and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in accordance with applicable policies.

· Process customer transactions through Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for both grill and pro shop purchases, including food, beverages, merchandise, green fees, cart rentals, and other applicable fees.

· Assist with pro shop operations, including staging, pulling out, returning, cleaning, and preparing carts for use.

· Maintain cleanliness and organisation of grill, dining, pro shop, and golf cart areas, including cleaning tables, counters, chairs, windows, floors, equipment, carts, and restrooms. Ensure adequate inventory levels in storage areas in refrigerators.

· Manage cash handling responsibilities and balance register at the end of each shift. Notify management of supply shortages, equipment issues, or upcoming events that may effect grill, pro shop, or golf course operations.

· Follow established opening and closing procedures for the grill, pro shop, and related facilities.

· Adhere to all City and department policies and procedures regarding attendance, timekeeping, dress code, customer service, safety, and food handling standards.

· Follow established processes and procedures based on department and City policies and operational guidelines.

· Perform similar or related duties as  required or as situations dictate.

The above duties are normal for this position but dependent upon the level of skill, ability, and experience of the individual. They are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. As a condition of employment, employees are required to perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

      

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  •  Ability to greet and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Ability and knowledge to process customer orders accurately and efficiently using the point of sale system/cash register.
  • Ability to handle transactions with precision.
  • Ability and skill to maintain cleanliness and organization in the grill and pro shop.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to safely operate basic concession stand-style kitchen appliances, including a deep fryer, grill, and microwave.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of computers, common office software, and internet usage.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling.
  • Knowledge of applicable liquor laws, procedures and policies, ability to determine signs of intoxication.
  • Knowledge of proper food preparation, storage, and sanitation requirements. 
  • Knowledge of Food Service Regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contracted in the course of the work.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and able to move forward with multiple priorities; using good judgement about when to check in to provide        updates or seek additional direction. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups, including city employees, city council, other agencies, and members of the public.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

· High School diploma, GED or equivalent required; Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages, applicable state card or certification required or obtained within the training period. 

· Minimum of one (1)  year experience in related field preferred; experience handling cash and credit card transactions.  

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule, perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.

· Must possess or be able to acquire a standard New Mexico driver’s license, have and maintain a good driving record;

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
