SUMMARY: National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance use treatment facility in Arlington, VA is hiring a full-time Program Director. This position is responsible for the overall management of the clinical and residential program at the Adult Women’s Residential Program in accordance with established policies and procedures. *This position requires a valid LPC or LCSW license in Virginia. This is a full-time, salaried M-F position with full benefits.*
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Ongoing development and revision of program under direction of the Deputy Chief Clinical Officer.
? Responsible for all administrative and clinical staff, supervising all hiring, evaluations and
terminations, as well as staff training activities
? Provide direct clinical care, crisis intervention, and client referral and phone inquiries
? Establish and support consistent philosophical approach to addictions treatment
? Ensure that all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are adhered to, including the
confidentiality of client information
? Encourage and support ongoing staff skill development
? Support staff in achieving and maintaining qualifications for certification
? Develop community outreach and public relations
? Development and maintenance of fiscal and budget integrity to include collaboration with other
departments.
? Maintain ethical standards and continued professional growth, including:
a. Abide by Program and NCTR policy and procedures. Oversees staff understanding and
compliance
b. Ensure all CARF standards are instituted and maintained
c. Promote, in public and private contacts, the quality standards and ethical practices of
NCTR staff
d. Continue professional growth by attending workshops, trainings and staff in-service
trainings to increase skill and knowledge and to set appropriate example for staff
e. Maintain current licensure/certification including CES, CPR, First Aid, and Medication
Management
f. Maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients
g. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field required
? Valid Virginia License (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP) required
? Certified in substance abuse counseling preferred
? Combination of substance abuse counseling and supervisory experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
? Prior management experience essential; demonstrated ability to perform under pressure
? Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
? Familiarity with the 12-step approach
? Experience working with diverse population
? Experience working in hospital or medical settings
? Experience working with commercial insurance carriers
? Ability to prepare and maintain required documentation
? Ability to comply with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality
