Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a Surgical Oncology PCU assignment in Columbus, Ohio.

This is a high-volume, mixed-acuity unit supporting complex surgical oncology patients requiring both PCU-level monitoring and Med-Surg care in a fast-paced academic environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is ideal for nurses comfortable managing mixed PCU and high-acuity Med-Surg patients, with exposure to oncology, surgical recovery, and complex medical conditions.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 16-week contract
• Day or Night shift available | 3x12s
• Day: 07:00–19:30
• Night: 19:00–07:30
• Weekends required based on unit needs
• Self-scheduling allowed (no block scheduling)
• Floating required within equivalent or lower acuity units

COMPENSATION
• Gross: $2,359 per week
• W2: $24.50 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Care for surgical oncology patients in a mixed PCU / Med-Surg environment
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and IV antibiotics
• Manage oncologic emergencies including cytokine release syndrome
• Monitor and manage insulin and heparin drips
• Provide post-operative care for complex surgical oncology patients
• Perform telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Maintain strong infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
• Document care in Epic EMR

UNIT OVERVIEW
• 12 James – Surgical Oncology PCU
• Mixed PCU and Med-Surg acuity
• Adult and geriatric population
• Ratios: 1:4 (can flex to 1:5)
• High-volume surgical oncology unit
• All permanent staff are PCU trained

• Minimum 2 years RN experience REQUIRED
• PCU or high-acuity Med-Surg experience REQUIRED
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS REQUIRED
• Epic EMR experience REQUIRED
• Ability to manage mixed-acuity PCU and Med-Surg patients REQUIRED
• Valid compact or Ohio RN license REQUIRED at submission
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Preferred:
• Oncology experience
• ONS Chemotherapy certification
• Previous travel experience

• Must be comfortable in high-volume surgical oncology environment
• Floating required within equivalent or lower acuity units
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Local candidates accepted
