Description

Leads a centralized Intake team accountable for owning Bierman’s first relationship with families. This role owns the enterprise intake operating model and processes, while partnering with other functions to drive consistent execution, accountability, and adherence across regions.

The Director of Client Intake ensures that children and families seeking care are met with clarity, compassion, and confidence—and that their path from initial inquiry to the start of services is thoughtful, efficient, and well-coordinated. This role translates Bierman’s mission into action at the very first point of contact, bringing empathy and structure together to ensure families experience Bierman as a trusted partner from day one.

Bierman operates with a teaching hospital mindset – delivering standard setting clinical excellence. The Director of Client Intake is responsible for ensuring that the intake experience reflects this commitment, where professionalism, responsiveness, follow-through, and accountability are non-negotiable


Key Responsibilities: 

· Own intake experience and lead centralized intake team serving multiple regions and states

· Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across the intake function

· Use data and analytics to understand barriers, improve flow and continuously improve the process

· Build strong Partnerships with Services, Revenue Cycle, Recruiting and Outreach to enable timely and effective client starts and onboarding

· Work cross-functionally to surface, resolve, and prevent delays or barriers to families starting services

· Other tasks as needed/necessary.

Requirements

  

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree 

· 8–10+ years of experience in healthcare intake (preferably behavioral health/ autism/ pediatrics) admissions, access, care coordination, or a closely related function in a complex service environment

· 3–5+ years of people leadership experience, including direct management of a multi-person team 

· Demonstrated ownership of an end-to-end intake or access funnel, including responsibility for speed, quality, and consistency

· Experience operating in a multi-state, multi-payer healthcare environment, with real exposure to payer rules, authorizations, and related complexity

· Proven ability to use data and funnel analytics (e.g., HubSpot or equivalent) to optimize work, and drive improvement

· Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience partnering closely with clinical/ operations/revenue cycle leaders

· Experience in high-growth and fast-paced scaling healthcare organizations 

· Experience building or evolving intake systems & workflows

· Ability to lead with high empathy and clarity 

 

Essential Job Functions:

· Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions 

· Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication though computer, electronic devices, and paper means.

· Must be able to maintain prolonged periods of working on a computer while sitting at a desk and attending virtual meetings
