OVERALL JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Product Developer is a highly technical contributor responsible for translating creative design intent into commercially viable, technically executable apparel products. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Product Design, this role serves as a critical bridge between creative design, product development, sourcing, sales, and factory partners.
This position owns key technical decision-making and approval gates across color, prints (placement and all-over), washes, and trims—from early concept and development through bulk production approval. The Product Developer partners closely with Creative Design to ensure the product is on-brand, scalable, and production-ready, while balancing creative vision with commercial and operational realities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and maintain designated tech pack sections related to lab dips, bulks, trims, print execution and workflow.
- Define and document trim specifications and print techniques by fabric and factory.
- Ensure accuracy and executability of all information entered.
- Partner with Creative Design on Pantone color selection and application.
- Advise on color feasibility and appropriate color systems.
- Maintain accurate color documentation in tech packs.
- Review lab dips for accuracy and dye quality.
- Provide feedback and approve bulk fabric color prior to production.
- Review and approve all print strike-offs prior to production.
- Evaluate placement, scale, color accuracy, wording, and spelling.
- Recommend appropriate AOP print methods (digital, sublimation, rotary, pigment, etc.).
- Review AOP samples and approve final execution.
- Lead development and approval of wash techniques including stone wash, snow wash, dip dye, and tie-dye.
- Approve bulk wash execution prior to production.
- Own development and approval of all trims including zippers, buttons, snaps, tapes, elastics, and hardware.
- Define seasonal and collection-level color palettes.
- Maintain Pantone library and apply sales-informed color strategy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Apparel, Textiles, Fashion, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in apparel product development or a related technical role.
- Strong experience working with color, prints, washes, and trims in apparel.
- Proven ability to independently manage development and approval processes through bulk production.
- Advanced proficiency using PLM systems; Kubix experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with factories in Latin America and Asia.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background in activewear or performance apparel (preferred but not required).
- Deep understanding of textile behavior, print techniques, and dyeing processes.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance creative intent with commercial and operational considerations.
